CREATING FROM THE HEART

Our Story

Knowing what you want out of life and building a life you never need to escape from are two very different things that rarely exist in the same space and time.

Brian and I have spent the last 7 years pursuing our dreams as individuals, a couple, and a family to love the life we live. We’ve established new traditions, visited new places, and learned new things. Along the way, our family has experienced the joy and excitement of new and different. We’ve also learned that change doesn’t always look or feel the way we would like it to!

I’ve created this site as a space to share our creations, events, experiences, research, lessons learned (failures!), and best practices to reach our goal of a joy-filled life we love. As a left-handed dreamer in a right-hander’s reality, I’ve spent a lot of time learning what doesn’t work and through my tangible lessons learned, found solutions and processes which propel me on to success.

Our journey to pursue health, wealth, and loving relationships is not without its challenges in suburbia. Distractions, responsibilities, and the busy stage of life we are in – growing our family and establishing our careers – has presented limitations in our resources. But ours is a story of CHOOSING what is important and pursuing it despite the stacked odds. Join us as we adventure through loving, living holistically, exploring the beauty of nature and raising our girls with the foundations to be successful, contributing adults!

Our Family

Kirsten

Creator Mama, Life-Long Learner, and Marketing Professional (Household Admin & Financial Executive)

As long as I can remember, I have been creating in some form or another. I remember taking old catalogues as a young child and cutting out people to make a family, naming them, giving them ages, and then styling each one with a custom “closet” of cut out clothes. I’ve dabbled in many crafts and hobbies and found that cultivating events and experiences are some of the most joy-filled moments of my life. Designing events and renovations, preparing specialty dishes, and organizing new sensory experiences for myself and my family are top of the list. Come along with me as I share my experiences and learn along the way.

Brian

Plant Whisperer, Builder, and IT Professional
(Household Operations & Technology Executive)

Brian is wired to understand how things work: destruct, fix and then reconstruct. As a young adult, he spent time working alongside his dad, learning the basics of construction and mechanical engineering. When technology use began to expand, Brian was met with an exciting new category to comprehend. His skills pair beautifully with mine as we partner to build a life we love. If I can dream it, he can build it. Brian is eager to have a project car to tinker with, spends most of his free time on house projects, and brings my dreamy head back to reality when necessary.

Vivienne, Evelyn,
Eloise & Imogene

Sharing the best life we can provide WITH our girls is one of our greatest joys! Each of them loves music, so our house is often chaotic and loud. Vivienne is gifted in so many ways and has the heart of the big sister helper. Evelyn is quick-witted and enjoys creative projects and has an incredible imagination in play. Eloise is the sweetest lover, even as she begins year two when big feelings really come into play. Imogene is a joyful addition to our girls club. She is such a smiley baby and has a relaxed disposition, happy to play on her baby gym mat or chill in her rocker when she is awake.

2024 Family Photos

I have had the wonderful privilege of finding a family photographer that captures the growth of my family beautifully. For more than four years now, Kelsey Krall of Kelsey Krall Photography has worked with us at a variety of local spots. Her style is light and airy which allows our faces to truly be the focal point in each photo. This Fall session is approximately a year after our last session, so the kids all look quite a bit different! Its been such a joy to work with Kelsey, putting together my family’s outfits and

Girls’ Closet Transformation

Our nursery closet has been an ever-evolving process. While it is not perfect, the custom build has allowed us the flexibility to organize clothing storage for one baby, then two, and now it holds most of the clothes for three little girls! I took the bones of this build from another mama blogger and customized the space for our needs. This first picture shows what the closet looked like when we first moved in. The third bedroom in our home was used as an office, library and storage area for the first several months. Once

Our master bedroom has shifted with the needs of our family, but as the place where we spend (or should spend!) 1/3 of our life, Brian and I made a few investments in the bedroom that have been well worth it. Brian spent some time in the world of high-end furniture, so he understands the benefits of a
